PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regulating the production ratio of each of carotenoid compounds such as astaxanthin, etc., in the carotenoid compounds, and also to provide a method for producing the carotenoid compounds at a specific ratio stably by using bacteria capable of producing the carotenoid compounds. SOLUTION: This method for producing any one of or a multiple number of kinds selected from a group consisting of astaxanthin, adnixanthin, phenicoxantin, cantaxantin, echinenone andβ-carotene by the culture of microorganisms producing the carotenoid compounds is provided by adjusting the production ratio of the carotenoid compounds by adjusting the ammonia concentration in a medium.
