Device for removing a wire (1) or cable from a winding drum (2, 2~) comprises a guiding tube (7) connected to the mouth of a funnel (4) for sliding into the drum and having a diameter which is smaller than the inner diameter of the outer casing of the drum. The guiding tube can be slid into the winding drum depending on the continuously reducing filling height of the drum so that a smaller distance can be adjusted between the filling height of the wire or cable and the end of the guiding tube facing it.
