<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for forming an optical element which can improve productivity even without increasing forming machines, whose maintenance is facilitated as well, and which can contribute to the reduction of cost. <P>SOLUTION: The die comprises; a lower die 2 having a forming face 221 at the upper face; and an upper die 3 whose positioning to the lower die 2 is performed with positioning means 50, 51, and mounted so as to be separated/approached and also to be freely attachable/detachable, and having a forming face 31 at the lower face.
