PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting device capable of positively showing the existence of a vehicle to surroundings of the vehicle when a view field state around the vehicle is deteriorated. SOLUTION: From pictures photographed by a front camera 1 or a rear camera 2, the vehicle recognition rate of the other vehicle is calculated (a step S30), and the view field state of an own vehicle is determined by the vehicle recognition rate (a step S40). When it is determined that the view field is unfavorable, the determination is informed to a driver to urge the driver to turn on a lighting device of the own vehicle (a step S60), or the lighting device of the own vehicle is automatically turned on (a step S90).
