PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically mounting a joint fitting on a precut wooden material for building, which can automatically mount the necessary joint fitting on the precut wooden material, and to provide a method of the same. SOLUTION: The system is comprised of an automatically transporting means 41 for transporting the precut wooden material, a workpiece detecting means 51 for identifying the type of the transported precut wooden material, and a fitting automatically mounting means 61 for mounting the joint fitting on the precut wooden material. The fitting automatically mounting means 61 is formed of a guide mechanism 62 for moving the joint fitting to a predetermined location, a lower portion guide mechanism 82 for mounting the joint fitting conforming to a precut portion in cooperation with the guide mechanism 62, and a bolt/nut mounting mechanism 92 for fixing the mounted joint fitting to the precut wooden material.
