PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform exchange work and inspection/repairing work of various kinds of apparatuses mounted in a vehicle body without requiring time and labor. SOLUTION: The railway vehicle 1 is provided with a vehicle body 2 mounted with a plurality of apparatuses 7, 8a, 9a, 10a and capable of traveling on a track; a plurality of rafters 5a, 5b for dividing an area mounted with the apparatuses 7, 8a, 9a, 10a in the vehicle body 2 to three sections 11a, 11b, 11c in a longitudinal direction along an advancement direction of the vehicle body 2; and three sheets of roof plates 14a, 14b, 14c detachably mounted to the rafters 5a, 5b and individually covering the three sections 11a, 11b, 11c. A width dimension of a direction along the advancement direction of the vehicle body 2 in the individual sections 11a, 11b, 11c is set larger than a width dimension of a direction along the advancement direction of the vehicle body 2 in the apparatuses 7, 8a, 9a, 10a mounted on the individual sections 11a, 11b, 11c.
