<p>A differential pH probe (150) design uses a container (100) having an outer surface and an inner volume, where the inner volume is divided into a first, a second, and a third chamber. A first pH-sensitive area (101) is located on the outer surface of the first chamber where the first pH-sensitive area (101) is configured to be exposed to a sample. A second pH-sensitive area (104) is located on the outer surface of the second chamber where the second pH-sensitive area (104) is shielded from the sample and is exposed to a first buffer solution. A third pH-sensitive area (108) is located on the outer surface of the third chamber where the third pH-sensitive area (108) is shielded from the sample and is exposed to a second buffer. A first electrode (112) is configured to detect a first voltage across the first pH-sensitive area (101), a second electrode (115) is configured to detect a second voltage across the second pH-sensitive area (104), and a third electrode (114) is configured to detect a third voltage across the third pH-sensitive area (108). Circuitry (120) is configured to process the first voltage, the second voltage, and the third voltage to determine a pH of the sample.</p> |
