PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device to impressively feel arrival to a destination and departure from an origin. SOLUTION: This navigation device is provided with a means for detecting arrival to the predetermined vicinity of an object point (Step 31), a means for displaying a character for greeting since the detection till arrival to the object point (Step 32), a means for changing the display of the character for greeting so as to express approaching to the object point as the device approaches (Steps 33, 34), a means for detecting departure from the object point to a predetermined place, a means for displaying a character for seeing off since departure from the object point till the detection of the departure to the predetermined place, and a means for changing the display of the character for seeing off so as to express the departure from the object point as the device departs therefrom.
