<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appearance inspection system or the like, which acquires the luminance values of respective pixels as a relative variation based on a plurality of photographed images, is configured to be strong with respect to environmental variations and can precisely determine as to whether the propriety of an object to be inspected. <P>SOLUTION: The appearance inspection system S comprises a rotating apparatus 100 for making the object to be inspected intermittently rotate, with respect to a prescribed axis being used as a reference; an imaging camera apparatus 200 for photographing the appearance of the object to be inspected at each prescribed rotation angle from a point in the direction of the prescribed axis; and an inspection apparatus 300 which inspects the appearance of the object to be inspected, based on image data photographed by the imaging camera apparatus 200 and determines the presence or the absence of a defect on the appearance. The inspection apparatus 300 generates difference images, each of which represents an image difference between images of an object area serving as the object of inspection for the object to be inspected, for respective image data output from the imaging camera apparatus 200, based on both the given image data and image data photographed, in advance of the given image data by each rotation angle, and determines the presence or the absence of the defect on the appearance, based on the difference images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
