PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the monitor method and device of collection data for freely generating desired variables, even when a PLC has been shifted to an operating state. SOLUTION: This monitor method of collection data comprises a first step for setting virtual variables defined by a calculation formula using one or more real variables; a second step for reading a real variable data column from a PLC side data collection device; a third step for generating a virtual variable data column, by substituting the real variable data column read from the PLC side into the calculation formula defining the set virtual variables; a fourth step for storing the real variable data column and the virtual variable data column in an internal table; and a fifth step for making corresponding waveform displayed on the screen of a monitor device side image display unit, based on each real variable data column stored in the internal table and the virtual variable data column set on the monitor device side.
