PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of an unnecessary communication traffic from a map data distribution device to a terminal and to attain convenience of processing for the terminal. SOLUTION: A difference update part of the terminal content classification of differential map data received from a map distribution server, by a content classification judgment part; and as a result, when the content classification of the map update data is road link data, a table operation part reflects update data on a mesh table of a map data storage part. When content classifications are guidance institution data, the table operation part reflects the update data on a guidance institution table of the map data storage part. When the road link data, road link data in the same mesh are stored in a record as a binary column integrated into a single piece of binary data, the binary data are developed, updated and reconstructed in a binary development/reconstruction part and a binary update part.
