PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption while obtaining a designated displacement by a shape memory alloy in an actuator drive using the shape memory alloy. SOLUTION: The actuator being the shape memory ally is equipped with an applying means for applying the pulse current having at least a designated current value or voltage value and a designated duty ratio, or the pulse voltage, and with a determining means for determining the current value with the pulse current, or the pulse voltage which is applied to the actuator by the applying means, or the voltage value, and the duty ratio. And, this determining means determines the current value bigger than the current value with constant current required for displacing the actuator by a designated target displacement, or the voltage value corresponding to the current value, and the pulse current having the duty ratio giving an input current fewer than the input current being an integrated value with constant current when the constant current is applied to the actuator.
