摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength and durability of an actuator shaft. SOLUTION: This variable compression ratio mechanism of an internal combustion engine has an upper link 22, a lower link 21 connected to the upper link 22 and a crank pin 17, a control shaft 23 extending in substantially parallel to a crankshaft 16 in the cylinder bank direction, a control link 25 having one end rockably connected to the control shaft 23 and having the other end connected to the lower link 21 and an actuator 30 rotatingly driving the control shaft 23 by using reciprocating motion of the actuator shaft 32, and variably controls the engine compression ratio by a relative positional change in a rocking center position of the control link 25 caused by rotation of the control shaft 23, by making the rocking center of the control link 25 to the control shaft 23 eccentric from the rotational center of the control shaft 23.
