PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that noises can not be sufficiently removed, and the generation of spattering can not be reduced because of maldetection of a neck, and further excellent welding results are hardly obtained in the case that the same base material is welded by means of a plurality of welding apparatuses. SOLUTION: The method for controlling an arc welding apparatus and the arc welding apparatus have a function for forbidding the detection of the neck based on the variation of welding voltage, so that the judgement of the neck can be accurately performed by preventing the maldetection of the neck, and the generation of spattering can be reduced.
