PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding core, wherein the winding start end of a material to be wound is accurately pressed to a step part efficiently to be wound even if the winding start end of the material to be wound is not parallel to the axial direction of the winding core. SOLUTION: In this winding core, a step part 21 having a height substantially equal to the thickness of a sheet-like material to be wound is provided on the outer peripheral surface 2 extending in the axial direction of the winding core 1.
