PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for a large-sized product which can be assembled easily into a neat form, and a packaging method using the packaging material. SOLUTION: The packaging material 10 is for use in packaging the large-sized product 1, and has a top face member 20 and side face members 30 and 40. The top face member 20 covers the top face of the large-sized product 1. The side face members 30 and 40 are separated from the top face member 20, and cover the side faces of the large-sized product 1 while being kept hung at a given position on the top face member 20.
