The shoe cleaner, to clean the soles before climbing into an automobile, is under one or all doors at the outer side of the car floor. On opening the door, the shoe cleaner frame (3) is extended for an electromotor (11) to operate a continuous belt passing round a drive roller (9) and a counter roller (10) or brushes. The user cleans the first shoe on entering the vehicle and the second shoe from the seat.
