The roller has an elastomeric lamination exhibiting bristles, where the bristles are inclined towards an axial direction of the roller. The elastomeric lamination is made of elastic, compressible material with specific hardness, where the elastomeric lamination is based on elastomeric polyurethane or foam rubber. The bristles are arranged individually or in tufts in a circular or spiral manner, where the bristles are curved, flexed or turned. The elastomeric lamination has a surface that is provided with recesses or slots. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a roller.
