PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus capable of reducing power consumption for digital signal processing in a transmitter in response to a transmission line state.

SOLUTION: A radio communication system performs communication by the digital/analog transmission of a signal, which is processed by a digital signal processing means arranged in a transmission side transmitting part, to a reception side via a line α. The transmission line state of the line α is measured at the reception side and transmitted to the transmission side by using the reverse line β of the line. Then, a bit width selecting means 0114 changes the bit width of signal processing in a digital signal processing means 0110A such as a modulating means 0111 or a digital/analog converting means 0112 in response to the transmission line state of the line α which is reported from the reverse line β at the transmission side.
