PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC magnet erase head which can prevent damage to a magnetic tape by preventing sliding of a magnetic pole and the magnetic tape and thereby can record a signal and data onto the magnetic tape in a good recording state. SOLUTION: The DC magnet erase head 20 is provided with a N pole (first magnetic pole) and a S pole (second magnetic pole) arranged respectively at both sides of the magnetic tape MT, and it is characterized in that the N pole and S pole are spaced in the forward direction (longitudinal direction) of the magnetic tape MT.
