PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkoxy-siloxane polyether carboxylate resin terminal-blocked with a functional olefin group and usable as a dental impression material and provide a method for producing the resin. SOLUTION: The resin contains an alkoxy-siloxane polyester or polyether carboxylate backbone functionalized with at least two cycloolefin groups capable of undergoing a metathesis reaction. The method for producing the resin comprises the reaction of a hydride-terminated siloxane with a polyether or polyester diol containing propylene oxide and ethylene oxide fragments, and a hydroxyalkyl carboxylic acid ester functionalized with a cycloolefinic group, in the presence of a group 3 or 13 catalyst.
