PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester false twist yarn exhibiting excellent transparency preventing property, excellent drape property and dry touch. SOLUTION: The false twist yarn comprises polyester multifilament including 4.0-12.0 wt.% titanium dioxide, wherein the false twist yarn has a transparency preventing degree (ΔL) of 10-16 and a crimp percentage of 10-26%. The method for producing the false twist yarn has a diameter and hardness of a triaxial friction disk, contact length of the untwisting part side lowermost disk made of a ceramic with a running thread, and false twist number.
