<p>The retaining device for a motor vehicle's safety device (1) has a component (2) which is displaceable from a neutral position into an active position. A pivotable latch (9) acts upon the retaining element (7) of the component, and a pawl lever arrangement keeps the latch in the engaged position and is equipped with a pawl mechanism and adjustable locking element. The pawl mechanism is adjustable through the adjustment of the latch from the engaged position in the direction of the released position. The locking element locks the adjustment of the pawl mechanism brought about by the latch.</p> |
