The panel has a sound absorption element (5) that is porous and resistant to reinforcement. The element has a thickness comprised between 5 and 10 millimeter. A porous appearance shell (6) has a resistance to the air passage, where the resistance is greater than that of the absorption element. The shell has the resistance comprised between 1000 and 2000 Newton second per cubic meter. The element has the air passage resistance of the order of 500 Newton second per cubic meter. The shell is located with respect to a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a trim panel of a motor vehicle.
