<p>A telecommunications services apparatus. The apparatus comprises a message grooming means and a message aggregation means. The message grooming means is operable to receive a message from a message originator and to determine whether or not the message should be free of charge to the originator based on an analysis of a destination address of the message. If it is determined that the received message should be free of charge to the originator, the message grooming means directs the message to the message aggregation means. The message aggregation means is operable to receive the message from the message grooming means, to determine from the message destination address a corresponding delivery address for the message, to create a charging information record such that the intended message recipient may subsequently be charged for communication of the message, and to initiate message delivery to the determined delivery address. The message may therefore be delivered at the expense of recipient, rather than the originator, thereby mirroring the free-phone / toll-free feature of voice communications in a message communication environment.</p> |
