摘要 |
51-Nucleotides are obtained by culturing Micrococcus sodonensis or Brevibacterium ammoniagenes in an aqueous nutrient medium containing nutrients, growth factors and a precursor for said nucleotide, wherein micro-organism over-growth at the expense of production of 51-nucleotide is suppressed by incorporating a micro-organism growth-suppressing antibiotic in said nutrient medium. The anti-biotic is preferably added at the beginning of the logarithmic growth period of the micro-organism, specified antibiotics being penicillin nitomycin, streptomycin, oxamycin bacitracia, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, chlortetracycline, carzinophili, kanamycin and neomycin. In examples, the production of 51-sodium inosinate, 51-sodium guanylate, 51-adenylic acid and 51-sodium xanthylate is described.
