<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining member for a catalytic converter which can be manufactured even if manufacturing conditions are relaxed, while utilizing advantages of the molded retaining member. <P>SOLUTION: This retaining member for the catalytic converter includes a catalytic carrier formed into a cylindrical shape, a casing for storing the catalytic carrier, and a retainer which is wound around the catalytic carrier and provided between the catalytic carrier and the casing. In the retaining member, a mat layer cylindrically integrated with inorganic fiber and a molded layer cylindrically formed with the inorganic fiber are layered alternately for integration so that an outmost layer may be the molded layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
