A retrofocus type of zoom lens, including: a first lens group (G1) having a negative focal length; a second lens group (G2) having a positive focal length; and a third lens group (G3) having a positive focal length, said first (G1), second (G2) and third lens group (G3) being arranged in this order from object to image side; and an aperture stop (S) moving together with the second lens group (G2) and disposed on the object side of the second lens group (G2), zooming from wide-angle to telephoto end being carried out by decreasing the space between the first (G1) and the second lens group (G2).
