Sound reproduction and lighting apparatus, which is configured as a table lamp, comprises a light sources 46 and panel-form loudspeaker units 40. At least a portion of each panel-form loudspeaker units 40 is transparent or translucent so that light from the light source 46 passes therethrough in use. The light source 46 and the panel-form loudspeaker units 40 are mounted on a body 48 comprising a subwoofer enclosure 51. The subwoofer enclosure 51 has an externally-mounted, tuned port 52 which supports the panel-form loudspeaker units 40 behind a conventional lampshade 42. A sound-reactive member may be situated between the light source 46 and the panel-form loudspeaker unit 40, the reactive member being configured to vary transmission of light passing therethrough (and hence through the panel-form loudspeaker unit) when exposed to acoustic vibrations. Several other embodiments are described including a household light fitting (fig 12) and a combined motor horn and headlamp (fig 11).
