The method includes performing contact less distance measurements on the surface of the wire fitting (3) to obtain measurement values; and creating a surface model of the wire fitting from the measurement values. The geometrical data of the wire fitting is determined from the surface model. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining the geometrical data of a wire fitting in which the surface of the wire fitting is scannable. |
