A wind turbine unit C is placed on a rotating base B and is surrounded by radiating panels A, A1 that can be raised or lowered according to the wind direction, thus creating a venturi effect directing the wind onto the turbine blades. Ideally, the wind turbine comprises of two adjacent turbine units C which are located such that the blades D between the two turbine units meet, or nearly touch each other. The figure shows two panels A1 which are raised, while the other panels A have been lowered to prevent obstruction of air flow. The panels A, A1 are located such that they are radiating outwards from the wind motor unit. Panels which are not used for directing the wind are lowered so as not to obstruct the airflow. The device is preferably used to generate electricity. |
