A vehicle security apparatus is equipped with an immobiliser ECU 11, a remote security ECU 12, a communication ECU 13. The immobiliser ECU 11 controls prohibition and permission of a drive operation of an engine 30 based upon an identification signal transmitted from an electronic key 40. The immobiliser ECU 11 also controls the prohibition and permission of the drive operation of the engine 30 based upon a remote set signal and a remote unset signal, which are transmitted from a base station 50. In a case that the immobilizer ECU 11 prohibits the drive operation of the engine 30 based upon the identification signal of the key 40, even when the remote unset signal is outputted, the immobilizer ECU 11 maintains to prohibit the drive operation of the engine 30. A cell phone 70 may be used to send a signal to the control centre 60 to set the state of the immobiliser 11 if, for example, the car is stolen. |
