<p>The method involves transporting paper products (P) along a conveying path by using a conveying device. The paper products are cut at a side with a cutting device, and the cut side of the paper products is smoothened for finishing the cut surface. The paper products are held in a compressed condition by using pressing rollers (12, 14) from the beginning of the cutting till the ending of the cutting, where the pressing device is provided in an area of the conveying path.
