The turner bar (1) of a rotary printing press has an external pipe (19), in which an internal pipe is arranged. The external and the internal pipe (3) are adjustable relative to each other and are subjected with air, to form an air cushion between printing material and turner bar. The external pipe and the internal pipe have on the lateral surface air intake openings.
