<p>A panel assembly of the kind found in the air intake of a gas turbine engine or a fan duct 4 is designed to be demountable for maintenance purposes. Consequently there exists a gap 12 between the panels 4, 6 to be sealed. The invention relates to a deformable seal for the purpose comprising an elongate, hollow resilient member 10 mounted on a flange 18 at the confronting edge of the adjacent panel 6. The flanges 18, 20 are shaped such that the hollow member 10 when pressed between the flanges 18, 20 effectively seals the gap 12 between the panels 4, 6 and a portion of the seal member lies flush between the panel edges.</p> |
