<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape feeder that can stably feed a top tape and can be prevented from making abnormal actions. <P>SOLUTION: The tape feeder successively supplies electronic components held on a carrier tape to the picking-up position of a transfer head by feeding the carrier tape pitch by pitch. In the tape feeder, a foreign matter discharging vacant space 44 is installed to a dividing projector 43 on the downstream side of the rotary feeding members 33 and 34 of a top tape feeding mechanism, which feeds the top tape 10a peeled from the top surface of a carrier tape on this side of the picking-up position to the side opposite to the feeding direction of the tape 10a, by pinching the tape 10a to discharge solid foreign matter reaching the downstream side of the rotary feeding members 33 and 34 to the outside through a foreign matter discharging opening provided in a cover member. Consequently, the tape feeder can stably feed the top tape 10a by preventing the stoppage of the foreign matter and can be prevented from making abnormal actions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
