PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce steam white smoke generated at a time of the transfer from a desorbing process to an adsorbing process in recovering a solvent by using activated carbon and to prevent the blow-through of the solvent at the initial period of the adsorbing process while uniformly cooling the interior of an activated carbon bed by simple operation to effectively restore and develop adsorbing capacity. SOLUTION: In a solvent recovery process alternately repeating an adsorbing process for adsorbing an organic solvent in raw gas by using an adsorbing tank provided with an activated carbon bed and a desorbing process for desorbing the organic solvent adsorbed on activated carbon by introducing steam into the adsorbing tank, the adsorbing tank after the desorbing process is completed is immediately brought to a vacuum state to cool the activated carbon bed and the raw gas is subsequently introduced to resume the adsorbing process. In this cooling method of the activated carbon bed, the pressure in the adsorbing tank is desirably set to 0.2 atm or less.
|
