A hockey training device is provided which allows progressive training of shooting skills. A lower member is provided for blocking the lower portion of a hocke y net. Openings along the ice allow a puck or other object to pass through the lower member so that aiming of shots along the ice can be practiced. As players advance in skill, the same lower member can be used to practice raising the puck off the ice and shooting over the low blockage. Once raising the puck is mastered, an upright member can be added for blocking a central portion of the net. The upright member can be slid along the lower member to provide variation in the size of the openings through which a puck must be shot. Rotatable arms c an then be lowered to a horizontal position part way up the upright member, dividing th e unblocked portion of the net into smaller quadrants. The arms can be repositioned to different heights, again providing variation in the size and position of the openings through which the puck must be shot.
