A method for operation of gas distribution system for town prescribes use of distribution has pipelines for different purposes, gas controller sites, with autonomous ones included, and supply has pipelines through which high-pressure gas is supplied, with following gas supply to consumers and control of its pressure depending on needs of gas consumers. At that one additionally uses distribution has pipelines with medium gas pressure, bypass gas pipeline networks and dead low pressure gas pipelines, from supply gas pipeline high pressure gas is supplied to city of village gas network through slides installed in placed in parallel bypass gas pipeline and main operating gas pipeline, main operating gas pipeline network is provided with installed in sequence filter, shutoff valve, controller of medium gas pressure, discharge gas pipeline network with safety-discharge valve, unit for registration of gas flow rate, those are connected to village or city medium pressure gas network and dead low pressure gas pipelines, those are branched to each gas consumer, as autonomous gas-control sites one uses individual controllers of gas low pressure, those are installed at each gas consumer, after those one supplies low pressure gas by pipelines of low pressure to each gas consumer.
