[Also in Division B7] Bias-laid layers of rubberized parallel-cord fabric wound on to a collapsible rigid drum 10 covered by a flexible sheath 20 are divided into individual breaker layers for pneumatic tyres by knives 21 mounted on arms 22 spaced along a shaft 23. Movement of the knives about a shaft 25 towards and away from the drum is effected by a manually operated counterbalanced lever 28 and limited by adjustable stops 30, 31. The sheath 20 may be reinforced by axial wires. |
