<p>The application of a multilayered wear-resistant coating on coated metallic surfaces, comprises applying an intermediate layer (10) with a decreasing material content (100%) of anti-wear layer over a first transitional region and with an increasing material content (100%) of anti-wear layer over a second transitional region. The coating comprises two anti-wear layers (3, 5) and the intermediate layer arranged between each pair of anti-wear layers. The intermediate layer comprises a material composition containing the material of the anti-wear layer and a further material. The coating comprises two anti-wear layers (3, 5) and the intermediate layer arranged between each pair of anti-wear layers. The intermediate layer comprises a material composition containing the material of the anti-wear layer and a further material. The material content of the anti-wear layer in the intermediate layer is chosen with 5 wt% at every point. The material content of the anti-wear layer in the intermediate layer is decreased or increased according to a ramp function. The first transition region directly connects to the underlying anti-wear layer and the second transition region directly passes over into the underlying anti-wear layer. The first transition region directly connects to the second transition region. The layers are applied with a chemical vapor deposition process. A diamond-like carbon material is chosen as material for the anti-wear layers. An independent claim is included for a multi-layer coating for a metallic surface.</p> |
