A snap fastener assembly for knit material comprises a one-piece fastener member of plastics material having a base flange 10 of a polygonal shape adapted to be disposed on one side of a flap of knit material and having a centrally located fastening device 17 adapted for snap engagement with a mating fastening device 13, the base flange 10 having a preformed hole 11 in each of its corner regions, a one-piece attaching member 19 adapted to be disposed on the other side of the flap and being of the same size and contour of the flanges and pins 21 adapted to extend through the flap and holes 11 of the flanges, the free ends of the pins being adapted to be upset in the holes 11 after the assembly to knit material for permanently securing the fastener member on the flap and so that the knit material is gripped between the base flange 10 and the bearing portions surrounding and adjacent each of the pins 21. |
