Game-playing apparatus comprises a device (10) for playing an optical data-storage disc, an optical data-storage disc (16) authored to provide an interactive game and at least two handsets (18,20) for remotely controlling the operation of the playing device (10) to play the game. The handsets (18,20) are reconfigurable so as to be able to transmit respective different signals for each button (X, T, F), for each controller. In this way a particular signal from a particular controller can be determined. Signals control the device (10) playing the optical data storage disc (16) and may be signals corresponding to standard signals of an original device controller (12). Signals may comprise more than one command in sequence by way of a macro, and may effect menu selection for enhanced game play. The game may be based on a television show style quiz. |
