A method and a device for detecting a standard medical information code are provided quickly to detect the standard medical information code corresponding to a medical description written in a medical recording sheet of a standard clinic document by performing search based on a core word of the medical description. A medical treatment information database(122) stores the standard medical information code corresponding to each medical description. A code mapper(106) checks whether a client system(200) requests the search for the medical description. If the search is requested, the code mapper extracts the standard medical information code corresponding to the requested medical description from the database and outputs the searched code to the client system. The standard medical information code is a KMLS(Korean Medical Language System) standard code. The code mapper extracts the core word from the medical description and extracts the standard medical information code corresponding to the core word from the database. |
