An apparatus for crushing skull in a preheating port of a vessel in a vacuum degasser is provided to inject a burner into the preheating port smoothly and prevent a sealing flaw from being generated between the preheating port and a sealing flange by automatically removing the skull stuck to an inner passage of the preheating port without a manual operation of workers. An apparatus(1) for crushing skull(G) in a preheating port(12) of a vessel(10) in a vacuum degasser comprises: a base(30) installed on a moving frame(32), the moving frame being disposed such that the moving frame is movable to one side of the preheating port of the vacuum degasser vessel correspondingly to the injection angle of the preheating port; a drive source(50) installed on a drive plate(52), the drive plate being installed such that the drive plate moves forward and backward on the base as a drive means installed on the base; and a crushing means(70) mounted on an end of an operating rod, the operating rod being supported to a clamp that is connected to the drive source and provided on the base. The drive means includes driven sprockets(42), a drive sprocket(46), and a drive chain(48). |
