A method for drying laundry of a dryer is provided to extend life expectancy of the dryer and to reduce power consumption by controlling capacity of a heater differently according to load amount. In a dryer having a drum and a humidity sensor, a method for drying the laundry of a dryer comprises the steps: inputting a dry course and starting a dry course(S10); measuring a resistance value generated between the humidity sensor and an electrode after starting the dry course(S30); judging the load of the laundry to be dried according to the resistance value of the humidity sensor(S50); and controlling capacity of a heater differently according to the result(S110,S70).
