The installation has a loading/unloading station (12) to load passengers to a cabin (16) and/or to unload the passengers. Sensors are provided at regular paces along a path of the cabin and form a photoelectric cell or a radar cell with radiofrequency operation. The sensors detect an undesirable object e.g. bag, or an individual (32) intercalated in a free space between the successive cabins. The sensors are connected to a control unit for a cabin drive unit. One sensor automatically delivers a control order to the drive unit for modifying the cabin management, if the sensor is active.
