SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PSTN SUBSCRIBERS TO USE MUTIMEDIA MESSAGING SERVICE

A system and a method for supporting a multimedia messaging service of a fixed line phone subscriber are provided to increase the utilization of a fixed line phone and promote creation of benefit of fixed line phone subscribers. An MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(13) connects a call of a caller or a callee and transfers the phone number(origination number) of an origination terminal to an intelligent network based on destination triggering. An intelligent network service system(15) transfers the origination number to a subscriber terminal supporting an MMS(Multimedia Message Service) mapped to a destination number. A contents providing unit(17) transmits corresponding information previously registered by the callee to the origination terminal through an MMS according to an MMS request of the callee through the subscriber terminal.
