PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which scan the respective beams emitted from a plurality of laser light sources in respectively opposing directions by using one and the same deflection means, and is composed of a plurality of scanning optical systems housed in a single housing and furnished with lens groups for every beam for focusing on respectively corresponding faces to be scanned, wherein the deformation of the housing is minimized, the shift of scanning positions between scanning optical systems is reduced, and a high quality picture without color shift is available. SOLUTION: An axis line J-J of the deflection means intersects at right angle with the bottom face of the housing 115 which is supported between a pair of side boards 602 and 603 which compose a main body structure so that the axis line J-J is tilted from the gravitational direction y.
