PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner resolving a problem wherein water from ice melted during defrosting tends to accumulate in a heat exchanger lower part, it becomes frozen ice in the next heating operation, and all of it does not melt away even when a defrosting cycle is repeated. SOLUTION: By sending discharged gas into an inlet side pipe arrangement 11a of a heat exchanger supercooling pipe 11 arranged in a lowermost row of an outdoor heat exchanger 2, accumulation of the water from ice melted by defrosting is prevented, icing in the next heating operation is prevented, and by this, not only heating capacity insufficiency due to heat absorption capacity deterioration in heating operation can be prevented but defrosting frequency can be reduced also.
